For a staff member to be able to sign in to the app with a PIN on a point's tablet or phone, the device first needs to be linked once.
- Open the point → "Devices" → "Link Device".
- If you are setting up the device you are currently working on — click "Link This Device": it activates immediately, and this same device will remember you personally (useful for the "How to Log In as an Owner on an Employee's Device" article).
- If you are setting up a different device — an activation link and QR code will appear (); open that link (or scan the QR code) right on the device you need.
- Give the device a clear name, for example "Tablet at the Entrance".
- If this device will work at several points — turn on "Roaming — one device for multiple points": the staff member will be able to switch points themselves right in the app, without a new activation link.
- If printing is set up on the device — turn on "Has a Printer" and choose the roll width (58mm/80mm/A4). This is a setting specific to this device — do not confuse it with the general printing switch in Settings → System.
What to Do If… #
…a device is no longer in use? Remove it from the list (icon ) — the staff member will no longer be able to sign in from it; they will be able to sign in again with a new link or QR code.
…the printer does not show up when printing on Android? You usually need a separate print-service app (for example, ESCPOS Bluetooth Print Service) — without it, the system will not see the Bluetooth printer.
…a staff member tapped "Print" and nothing printed? The app does not show a separate printing error — the button just locks for 4 seconds after being tapped, to protect the printer from a repeat send. If nothing came out, the reason is always on the device/printer side (out of paper, out of charge, not connected via Bluetooth) — check the printer itself or its print-service app; RentOS does not report failures like this.
